San Diego's Best Americana Band

I came across Chuck Schiele around 2002/03 while playing with Clay Colton.  Chuck is one of those guys who has a knack for writing great songs and being everywhere at once.  At the time, Chuck had a group called Chuck Schiele & the Mysterious Ways.  Eventually, he would go on to form another outlet for his boundless songcraft called the Grams, involving some other friends of ours: Craig Yerkes (guitar) & Sweet Elise (violin).  They went on to win several San Diego Music Awards for Best Americana Band. 

I had the good fortune of recording Chuck's group once while at Winston's in OB in 2006. This is one of the songs from their 45-minute set.

The group suffered a devistating blow in June 2008 when they lost good friend Craig Yerkes.  Despite having played with Craig on many an occasion myself, I only have a few live recordings of him, which make them that much more precious to me.
