Martin Simpson

Another Museum-based recording, this time featuring the renowned English guitarist Martin Simpson.  He is an amazing guitarist and extremely pleasant to work with.

For this session, I basically set the levels and let 'er rip.  Set-up was painfully easy: a vocal mic and guitar input.  However, I did try something radically different with the mixdown.  I used a new feature that just came out in Digital Performer 6 called ProVerb, which is a convolution reverb plug-in.  I passed both tracks into 3 separate busses, one for each reverb "space" (left, center and right) and panned the reverb channels left, center and right respectively to "build" an interesting room.

I think it turned out pretty well.
